MOTION DESIGN

getting started

how to get a video…

The Process.

So you want an animation? Great! Here’s a list of the things that will happen, in order, after your initial consultation.

1.      Scripting - for either voice-over or onscreen text, ensuring your messages come across in the way you want them to.

2.      Style decisions - choosing the preferred look of the animation.

3.      Storyboarding - taking the script drawing some style-appropriate, still images for each of the transitions/scenes to get an idea of the flow of the video.

4.      Voice-over - can be done inhouse by me or by using an external voice-over artist, for an additional cost. I voice many of my videos, an example of my voice can be found here.

5.      Audio Production - including the post-production and editing of voice overs plus the addition of royalty free music for your video.

6.      Animation - we finally get to the fun part! There’s more detail below about exactly what this could entail.

7.      Video release - rendering as many versions of the video as you need in as many formats as you like, from the big screen to your phone and anything in between.

8.      After care – anything else you need, from text and image changes to “we lost all the videos in a fire”. Full post-project support at no extra charge.

Feedback.

At every step there will be discussions between you (the client) and myself (the animator) to make sure everything is perfect.

Any amendments or alterations are completely fine, I will state a set chargeable amount for feedback/revisions up front but in reality there is no limit and no extra charge for going over that. The priority is ensuring you’re happy with the product.

Of course, if we nail it first time, then there’s no revision charges at all!

Fees.

Yuk! No one likes talking about money. However, we live in a world that insists on payment for services and goods. So until we all live in a blissful utopia, where money ceases to be necessary, let’s have a conversation about your budget and what you hope to achieve.
